General information

Registration and Terms of payment

Registration for the German courses takes place by completion of payment of the course fee in the LAI's Language Course Department in Vienna. You can pay by cash, Maestro or Visa/Mastercard.

Course Assesment

An obligatory competency test is provided to ensure placement in a course at the right level. You can either pick up the written competency test in our institute, or we send it to you if required by e-mail.

Cancellation

Course cancellations are only possible until the second course lesson (the cancellation fee is 60% of the course price).

Course changes are only possible in exceptional cases and for courses which are not yet fully booked. A resulting price difference cannot be refunded. Transfers into the course in the next semester are not possible without exception. There is no discount or refund for participants who start the course later, stop it earlier or miss some lessons. Missed lessons also can not be repeated at a later date. The institute reserves the right in the case of too few participants registered to a course, to cancel the course (of course the course fee is fully refunded in this case) or to offer the course at an additional charge or with a reduction of lessons.

Course books

In our German courses we use the books Schritte plus and em neu. The books are not included in the course price.

Course certificate

Our course certificate confirms your learning success. To obtain it, you must fulfil the following requirements:

  • 70% course attendance
  • Active cooperation in the class
  • Completion of written homework

Course location

All courses take place in the rooms of the Lateinamerika-Institut, Schlickgasse 1, A-1090 Vienna, just a couple of minutes walking distance from the University of Vienna. You can reach us directly with the tram D, stop "Schlickgasse". In close vicinity there is the metro U2 and U4 and the tram 1. Please take into account that in the 9th district the short-term parking zone is valid from 09.00 to 22.00 (parking time: max. 2 hours).
